Confessions of a tired waitress wearing ugly shoes
I’m so freaking jealous! I know this woman who is an artist and an entrepreneur. If you go to her studio you will find her hard at work at some creative pursuit. She will be making jewelry, designing a website or creating some interesting new product. She loves what she is doing and it shows. She’s successful, she’s been able to do things in her small shop that much bigger businesses in bigger towns with significantly more foot traffic were unable to do.
She’s living the dream and I’ve often heard her encourage people to take the risk and make a small step toward their own dreams, no matter what it costs. The thing that breaks her heart the most is people who are stuck in jobs that don’t fit them simply for the health insurance.
She is strong, vibrant and confident, and though there are aspects of her life that didn’t feel right, she’s really lucky to be able to do what she is doing. And she’s good! Really good at what she does.
I haven’t seen her for about a year, I left her when we moved away, and bought and renovated our house. I guess I just lost track of her.
I want to live the dream like her. I want to be like her.
So vibrant,
So alive.
I am.
So.
Jealous.
I don’t see her, even when I look in the mirror.
Even though that woman was me.
Not so long ago.

Oh, my precious precious sweet one,
You will find this creative, vibrant, confident woman again,
I’m sure of it! In fact I truly believe
That she is closer than you may think.
You often feel different because of what you do during the day.
But this does not effect who you are.
Who you were created to be,
And the gifts and talents within you have not changed!
You can still put hand to canvas or paper and create the most beautiful creations!
You can still see beads and stones and strands and create the most beautiful creations!
You can still touch string, yarn and fabrics and create the most beautiful creations!
You can still type the most eloquent words and create the most beautiful creations!
You can still gaze upon colors many and create the most beautiful creations!
My dear you are still gazed upon and are a most beautiful creation!!
My precious precious sweet one,
Even though how you spend our time may alter,
Who you are created to be never alters!
Your dreams and visions and goals have been placed within you,
By the great creator, not by accident or mistake.
Do not lose hope or lose heart
Just because how you spend for a season has altered!
My precious precious sweet one,
You have been created to be CREATIVE!
Amen to all that Youthworker. Carmen you are such a blessing, and because your many gifts are dedicated to God they are profoundly more precious and enduring than the wood and straw of any human enterprise. They bring LIFE to people - you are a life-bringer because His life is in you.
Love to you, Sue
